Cristiano Ronaldo has once again claimed the title of the world's highest-paid footballer based on weekly base salary, while Lionel Messi has dropped to 13th place in the latest global salary rankings.

According to figures compiled by Capology and reported by Planet Football, Ronaldo earns an estimated £3.42 million per week at Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr. He is followed by Al-Ittihad striker Karim Benzema, who reportedly earns £2.01 million per week.

The rankings highlight the financial strength of the Saudi Pro League, with six players from the league featuring among the world's 15 highest-paid footballers.

Manchester City's Erling Haaland is the Premier League's highest-paid player, earning £525,000 per week, while Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé ranks sixth with £512,992 weekly. Vinícius Júnior and Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane are tied in ninth place, each earning £410,393 per week.

Lionel Messi, now playing for Inter Miami, returns to the list in 13th position with an estimated weekly salary of £360,876.

Other players featured in the top 15 include Jamal Musiala, Darwin Núñez, Virgil van Dijk, Rúben Neves, Kalidou Koulibaly, Sergej Milinković-Savić, Ivan Toney, and Sadio Mané.
