Global music stars Shakira and Burna Boy have released “Dai Dai,” the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The upbeat anthem was announced on Friday and is now available across major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music and Amazon Music.
Shakira revealed the release on social media, telling fans that the World Cup excitement had officially begun. FIFA also confirmed the launch of the track, describing it as a song that reflects the passion, energy and global spirit of football.
According to FIFA, “Dai Dai” will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative aiming to raise $100 million before the end of the tournament to provide children worldwide with access to education and football opportunities.
The football governing body added that royalties generated from the song will contribute to the fund. Shakira is also expected to donate her share of royalties, while Sony Music will match the first $250,000 raised.
The song includes motivational themes of unity, resilience and ambition, while mentioning football legends and stars such as Pelé, Diego Maradona, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Mohamed Salah.
The release marks Shakira’s return to the World Cup stage after her famous tournament songs “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” in 2010 and “La La La” in 2014.
For Burna Boy, the collaboration makes him the second Nigerian artiste to feature on an official FIFA World Cup soundtrack after Davido, who appeared on the 2022 World Cup song “Hayya Hayya (Better Together).”
Meanwhile, FIFA also announced that Nigerian Afrobeats star Rema will headline the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Los Angeles on June 12.
