Reports in the English media suggest that Enzo Maresca has agreed a three-year deal to become the next manager of Manchester City FC, replacing long-serving boss Pep Guardiola.
According to the reports, Manchester City’s hierarchy moved quickly to secure a successor after confirmation that Guardiola would be stepping down from his role at the Etihad Stadium following the end of his current tenure.
Maresca, who previously worked as an assistant coach under Guardiola at City, is said to have re-emerged as the leading candidate after gaining managerial experience at Leicester City FC and later at Chelsea FC.
He reportedly left Chelsea earlier this year, and has since been linked with a return to Manchester City, where he is viewed as someone familiar with the club’s playing philosophy and long-term project.
