Nigeria Moves to Extradite Mamu, Ekpa After Naming 48 Terrorism Suspects.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has initiated steps to extradite key suspects, including Tukur Mamu and Simon Ekpa, following the release of a list of 48 individuals and groups allegedly linked to terrorism financing.

Authorities said the move is part of a broader crackdown targeting networks accused of funding terrorist activities across the country. The list reportedly includes individuals and organisations associated with banned groups such as Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Islamic State West Africa Province, and Ansaru.

Government officials confirmed that legal and diplomatic processes are underway to secure the return of suspects residing abroad, particularly those believed to be playing influential roles in financing or coordinating unlawful activities.

The authorities emphasized that the action underscores Nigeria’s commitment to cutting off financial support for terrorism and strengthening national security. They added that all individuals found culpable will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

The development marks a significant escalation in efforts to dismantle terror financing networks and restore stability across affected regions of the country.
