Manchester City Stage Late Fightback to Beat Southampton and Reach FA Cup Final

Manchester City produced a late comeback to defeat Southampton 2–1 at Wembley and secure their place in the FA Cup final.

Southampton surprised many by taking the lead in the 79th minute when Finn Azaz unleashed a powerful long-range strike that beat the City goalkeeper, putting the underdogs on course for a major upset.

However, Pep Guardiola’s side responded almost immediately. Jeremy Doku brought City level shortly after with a deflected effort that shifted momentum back toward the Premier League champions.

With the match heading toward extra time, substitute Nico González delivered the decisive blow in the 87th minute, firing in a strong shot from distance to complete the turnaround.

Despite a disciplined and energetic performance from Southampton, City’s superior depth and late attacking pressure proved decisive once again. The win sends Manchester City into yet another FA Cup final, where they will face either Chelsea or Leeds at Wembley Stadium.
