Arsenal climbed back to the top of the Premier League after securing a narrow victory over Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners made a fast start and were rewarded early when Eberechi Eze produced a composed finish from outside the box in the 9th minute, a goal that ultimately decided the contest.
Newcastle responded with periods of pressure and controlled possession in parts of the game, but they found it difficult to break through Arsenal’s disciplined defensive setup. David Raya and the Arsenal back line stood firm, particularly in the closing stages as Newcastle pushed for an equaliser.
Arsenal also had to manage interruptions caused by injuries, which affected their rhythm in the second half. Despite those setbacks, they showed resilience to maintain their lead and see out the match.
The win boosts Arsenal’s title challenge as they reclaim first place in the Premier League standings, while Newcastle continue to struggle for consistency and remain outside the top positions.
