KADPOLY Launches Probe Into Dress Code Controversy.
Authorities of Kaduna Polytechnic (KADPOLY) have launched an investigation into a controversial incident in which some students were allegedly denied entry into the institution over claims that they violated the school’s dress code.
The issue came to light after a video circulated widely on social media showing several students—mostly female—complaining that security personnel and members of a disciplinary team prevented them from entering the campus, saying their clothing did not comply with the institution’s dress regulations.
Some of the affected students said they had traveled long distances to attend lectures but were turned back at the gate due to what they described as the strict enforcement of the dress code.
However, in a statement issued by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, the management of Kaduna Polytechnic said the outfits worn by the students seen in the viral video did not violate the institution’s dress policy and that they should not have been denied access to classes.
The institution added that while it maintains a dress code aimed at promoting decency and maintaining a conducive academic environment, its enforcement must be carried out fairly and in accordance with established guidelines.
The management further confirmed that a full investigation has been initiated to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and to ensure appropriate action is taken if any wrongdoing is established.
