Brazilian mixed martial artist and UFC flyweight Allan Nascimento has died at the age of 34 after reportedly suffering a suspected heart attack in his sleep.
According to the UFC, Nascimento was found unresponsive on Monday, August 3. Emergency medical responders attempted to revive him but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement, the UFC expressed its condolences to his family, friends, teammates, and loved ones, describing his passing as a tragic loss to the MMA community.
Nascimento, who lived in São Paulo, Brazil, is survived by his wife and two children. He competed out of the renowned Chute Boxe gym and finished his professional MMA career with a record of 22 wins and seven losses, including a 4-2 record in the UFC.
His final UFC appearance came in June, when he lost a closely contested split decision to Mitch Raposo.
