Military Strikes Terrorist Water Routes in Borno, Neutralises Dozens of Fighters

Nigerian troops have launched a successful operation along waterways in Borno State, destroying boats used by suspected terrorists and neutralising more than 30 fighters.

Security sources say the operation targeted insurgent activities around lake and river routes commonly used by armed groups in the North-East to move weapons, fighters, and supplies.

During the operation, the terrorists’ boats were reportedly destroyed, leading to heavy losses among the insurgents.

The waterways in the Lake Chad Basin area have remained a key operational corridor for Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters, allowing them to evade ground-based military pressure.

The military says the latest offensive is part of sustained efforts to disrupt terrorist logistics and restrict their movement across the region. No official confirmation has yet been provided by independent observers regarding the casualty figures.
