The Inspector‑General of Police (IG), Olatunji Disu, has ordered the deployment of Police Mobile Force units and tactical teams to Plateau State following a deadly attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area, which left several residents dead.
The IG condemned the violence and directed a “massive deployment of security assets” to restore peace, protect communities, and apprehend those responsible. The operation involves Police Mobile Force personnel, intelligence operatives, and other tactical units working alongside local security agencies.
Earlier this week, the Deputy Inspector‑General in charge of Operations, DIG Umar Nadada, visited Plateau to assess the situation, coordinate ongoing operations, and strengthen security measures across the state.
Police authorities extended condolences to the Plateau State Government, residents, and families of the victims, assuring that the enhanced security presence will remain until normalcy is fully restored.
