Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has moved closer to a potential second-term bid after the presidential nomination and expression of interest forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were obtained on his behalf.
The forms were picked up at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja by James Faleke, signalling the start of internal party processes ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The APC had earlier fixed the cost of its presidential nomination form at ₦100 million, highlighting the financial requirements for aspirants seeking the party’s ticket.
The move is seen as an early indication of President Tinubu’s interest in contesting for a second term, even as political activities gradually begin to build across the country.
Analysts say obtaining the forms at this stage could help consolidate support within the ruling party before the primaries, as potential contenders position themselves ahead of the race.
