President Tinubu Orders Nigerian Security Chiefs to Deploy to Borno After Suicide Attacks.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered all Nigerian security chiefs to move to Maiduguri, the capital of Borno, following a recent surge in terrorist attacks in the state.
The President made this known in a statement personally signed by him and released to the media on Tuesday, March 17, just hours after a series of suicide attacks in Borno on Monday, which left at least 23 people dead.
In the statement, President Tinubu extended condolences to the people of Borno for the terrorist attacks and reassured them that the Nigerian military is making progress in the fight against insurgents.
He added that during a security meeting with leaders of security and intelligence agencies last week, he approved additional equipment and operational support to strengthen their capabilities.
> “Additionally, I have directed the security chiefs to move to Maiduguri to take charge of the situation. I have also instructed emergency agencies to provide proper care for the injured,” President Tinubu said.
