Celtic produced a dramatic late comeback to defeat Heart of Midlothian 3–1 and clinch the Scottish Premiership title on the final day of the season in Glasgow on Saturday.
Hearts had briefly been on course for a historic title win after taking a first-half lead through a header from Lawrence Shankland. However, Celtic equalised just before halftime when Arne Engels converted a penalty following a handball decision.
The match remained tense and tightly contested until the closing minutes, when Celtic finally broke through. The introduction of Kelechi Iheanacho added attacking urgency, with the forward hitting the post as Celtic pressed hard for a winner.
Celtic eventually took the lead after Daizen Maeda bundled the ball home, with the goal initially ruled offside before a VAR review overturned the decision. In stoppage time, Callum Osmand sealed the victory by scoring into an empty net after Hearts’ goalkeeper had joined the attack.
The result handed Celtic yet another league crown, continuing their long dominance of Scottish football, while Hearts were left heartbroken after coming within minutes of a first title in decades.
