The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has issued a strong advisory to prospective corps members, urging them to avoid travelling at night as preparations begin for the 2026 Batch A Stream II orientation exercise.
According to the scheme, the warning is particularly directed at corps members posted to Osun State, stressing that night journeys expose travellers to security risks and road accidents.
NYSC advised corps members to:
Travel only during the daytime
Use designated and recognized motor parks
Seek assistance from transport unions when necessary
The orientation camp is scheduled to commence on April 22, 2026, with the swearing-in ceremony set for April 24, 2026. The exercise will run for three weeks, ending on May 12, 2026.
The scheme further emphasized the need for corps members to remain security conscious at all times, comply with all official guidelines, and involve parents or guardians in their travel arrangements.
NYSC reiterated that the safety of corps members remains a top priority, urging strict adherence to the advisory to prevent avoidable risks.
