Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Apologises for Delay in 2026 UTME Second Batch Results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued an apology to candidates over the delay in releasing the second batch of results for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

In a statement released by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the board expressed regret for the inconvenience caused, explaining that the delay was due to the absence of its Chief Executive, who was engaged in official duties at the time the results were scheduled for release.

The results, originally expected on Saturday, April 18, were postponed but were later scheduled for release on Sunday before the end of the day.

JAMB reassured candidates that the delay was administrative and not due to any technical issues. It also confirmed that the first batch of results, covering candidates who sat for the exam on April 16, had already been successfully released.

Candidates are advised to check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019 using the phone numbers registered for the examination.

The board further warned candidates against engaging in result falsification, noting that authorities have already apprehended individuals involved in such fraudulent activities.

JAMB has apologised for the delay, attributing it to administrative reasons, and assured candidates of timely release while urging them to avoid fraudulent practices.
