Kamfanin wutar lantarki na ƙasar Togo, C.E.E.T, ya bayyana sha’awarsa na ƙara yawan wutar lantarki da yake shigo da ita daga Najeriya ta hannun Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC).

A halin yanzu, Togo na shigo da kusan megawatt-hour 75 (MWh) na wutar lantarki daga Najeriya a karkashin yarjejeniya ta kasashen biyu. 

Wannan ƙara bukata na fitowa ne sakamakon tsananin karuwar amfani da wutar lantarki a ƙasar ta Togo, musamman a gidaje da masana’antu da ofisoshin gwamnati.

Hukumomi daga bangarorin biyu sun nuna aniyarsu ta ƙarfafa hadin gwiwa a fannin wutar lantarki tsakanin kasashen yammacin Afirka, amma sun jaddada bukatar kafa tsarin biyan kuɗi da kasuwanci don tabbatar da dorewar wannan hadin gwiwa.

Togo na ganin samun wutar lantarki daga Najeriya zai taimaka wajen samar da wutar lantarki mai dorewa da arha, wanda zai bunkasa tattalin arziki da inganta rayuwar al’ummar ƙasar.

Togo Seeks to Increase Electricity Imports from Nigeria.

The national electricity company of Togo, C.E.E.T, has expressed its interest in boosting the amount of electricity it imports from Nigeria through the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC).

Currently, Togo imports approximately 75 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity from Nigeria under a bilateral agreement between the two countries. This increased demand is driven by rapid growth in electricity consumption in Togo, particularly in households, industries, and government offices.

Officials from both sides have expressed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in the electricity sector across West Africa, but emphasized the need to establish structured payment and commercial frameworks to ensure the sustainability of this collaboration.

Togo sees Nigerian electricity as a key factor in providing affordable and reliable power, which will boost economic growth and improve the living standards of its citizens.
