Nigerian Man Sues Wife Over Paternity of Third Child, Suspects Pastor as Biological Father.

A Nigerian man has taken his wife to the Akwa Ibom State High Court over doubts about the paternity of their two-year-old daughter.

According to Akwa Ibom journalist and judiciary reporter Harrison Essien, the petitioner is seeking to legally establish the child’s paternity, claiming suspicions that his wife’s pastor may be the biological father.

The petitioner alleged that his wife, a nurse at a leading hospital in Uyo, would frequently leave home citing “night duty,” but was reportedly traced to a hotel with the cleric.

“FROM THE COURTROOM THIS MORNING: While many are preparing for traditional marriages today, an engineer is dragging his wife, a nurse at a top Uyo hospital, before the Akwa Ibom State High Court to establish the paternity of their third child, whom he suspects belongs to her pastor,” Harrison Essien reported.

He told the court that the alleged relationship began when his wife became the pastor’s family nurse, and he only recently learned he might not be the child’s biological father.

The petitioner added that he has cared for the girl since birth and that she was the gender he desired for their third child. He also alleged that the pastor, who lives in Uyo, is aware of the child and has engaged in a series of WhatsApp conversations with his wife, expressing concern that the child may one day identify him as her father.
