Hazrat imam Ali was the fourth Rashidun caliph who ruled from the year 656 to 661, He was the first Shia imam.
His father was Abu Talib ibn Abd al-Muttalib and his Mother was Fatima bint Asad, a young Ali was raised by his elder cousin Muhammad and was among the first to accept his teachings of Islam.
