Equipment belonging to the England national football team has reportedly been stolen in the United States ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, according to officials in Kansas City.
Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas confirmed that authorities at local, state, and federal levels are investigating the incident after items were taken from a transport vehicle carrying England team equipment en route to their training base at Swope Soccer Village.
Reports indicate that balls, boots, and other training materials were among the stolen items after the transport vehicles were broken into during transit from Florida to Kansas City.
Officials said the theft likely occurred before the team’s arrival at their training facility. The stolen goods are now being traced, and investigators are working to identify those involved and determine where the items were taken.
The England team, coached by Thomas Tuchel, is scheduled to begin training at the facility and will open their World Cup campaign against Croatia national football team on Wednesday, followed by matches against Ghana and Panama in Group L.
Authorities have promised further updates as the investigation continues.
